If the first track is a banger, that is all you need to know about this album. Add the fact that every track is composed by a different artist, and you get something miraculous. tempererror
The old vinyl of X stares at me as I listen to this new collection. Pulsing beats return with a few added singles, and a rollup of the older listing. Tracks from the apparently-defunct EMOTIONS EP also feature here, but without vocals--I miss Ruta's singing(can we get it back?). In any case, X's Definitive Collection is probably the most representative cross-cut of ALEX in the core days of New-Retrowave, well worth the price--unless ALEX was good enough to give it to you for free. This album makes L.A. traffic jams so much less painful. These dark and beautiful grooves are awesome. I was upset I missed "Youth" on vinyl and then I see this repress and I'm overjoyed that its a cool colored repressing. Ariel ZB's album art is dark, seductive, and strangely nostalgic. I can't wait to spin it! saintdan91388
Mac Quayle’s soundtrack for “Mr. Robot” provides the show a score that's as ominous and paranoid as its subject matter. Bandcamp Album of the Day Oct 6, 2016
The second LP from Kuedo feels like the soundtrack for future-noir, with rippling, uneasy synths and steadily-increasing tension. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 1, 2016
